Planning a Renovation Project
During your first attendance with our interior designer we will be able to ascertain whether structural restrictions or limitation will be in play so, before we move forward for preliminary project documentation we would arrange an onsite meeting with all major parties to the project including our draftsman and/or structural engineer, our preferred carpenter, owner and our interior designer.
This meeting allows all parties to nut out what can be achieved and find solutions or compromises where necessary before the scope of works are finalised for other trades to quote. We work hand in hand with the nominated draftsmen to ensure working drawings are in line with the final approved design.
Our interior designer / project manager will assist to plan and manage your renovation. We attend with all trades and key suppliers to review the approved scope of works on a space by space, task by task basis for quoting purposes. We would then review all quotes before they get sent to you (we do not charge mark up on trade costs but simply check the quotes for accuracy which will minimise variations once your renovation begins).
Where deemed necessary, we will assist with obtaining VBA owner builder consent (including assisting online questionnaires that VBA now require to be completed for any owner of a residence where a building or planning permit is being applied) then obtain all necessary permits and organise staged inspections which would be slotted into your project timeline. All of this will take the stress and hassle away from you.
If engineering work is required, we can refer or organize the necessary inspections and documents with our preferred engineer to get your plans approved and your renovation underway. We can liaise with building surveyor’s on your behalf, so you don’t have to lift a finger.
And as soon as the renovation has been approved, our preferred team of tradespeople can get to work on the demolition and construction phase.
